Ajax Boss Delighted With Arokodare’s Impact In Sion Victory

Ajax manager Míchel Sánchez has praised Tolu Arokodare following the striker’s impressive performance in the club’s 4-2 victory over Sion.

Arokodare made a significant impact after coming off the bench, registering a goal and an assist for the Eredivisie giants in the UEFA Europa Conference League playoff tie.

The Nigeria international replaced Marcos Leonardo in the 72nd minute and needed just two minutes to make his presence felt.

Arokodare found the net in the 74th minute to score Ajax’s third goal of the keenly contested encounter.

The forward was involved again three minutes from time, setting up Davy Klaassen for Ajax’s fourth goal to cap an impressive cameo.

Sánchez Thumbs Up Arokodare

Sánchez was pleased with Arokodare’s contribution and hailed the striker for making an immediate impact on the game.

“Tolu brought a lot of energy when he came on. He works hard, he scores and he helps us,” Michel told Ajax Life per Goal.

“He has a good character. I think he is a nice boy. I hope he keeps helping us in this way.”

Arokodare, who is loan at Ajax from Sky Bet Championship outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers has registered one goal and two assists in three appearances across all competitions for the former Eredivisie champions.
